Tiger runs well with the independent Horse and the loyal Dog, who respect its need for room. The tension with Monkey, its opposite, is real — two clever signs that read each other's motives with suspicion.

In the zodiac's structure, the Tiger sits in a trine group (三合) with Horse and Dog — signs that tend to share its pace — and directly opposite Monkey, its clash pair (六冲). A clash isn't a verdict, though: it usually means two people reaching the same goal by opposite routes.
